Demographics Tab

 

 

By collecting large quantities of data and analyzing this data by various demographic variables, an examiner may be better able to construct examinations free of cultural bias. A survey researcher may identify opinions which vary across different market segments.

 

 

 

Field

Description

 

 

Sex

Click on the Sex radio button to include a list whereby the gender of the candidate may be selected. This will be displayed when the Tester program for this test is executed.

 

 

DOB

Click the DOB radio button to include a field for the entry of a date of birth field on the Biographical Details page. This will be displayed when the Tester program for this test is executed.

 

 

Race

Click on the Race radio button to include a list of ethnic races on the Biographical Details page. This will be displayed when the Tester program for this test is executed.

 

 

Religion

Click on the Religion radio button to include a list of religions on the Biographical Details page. This will be displayed when the Tester program for this test is executed.

 

 

Educational Level

Click on the Educational Level radio button to include a list of education levels on the Biographical Details page. This will be displayed when the Tester program for this test is executed.

 

 

Marital Status

Click on the Marital Status radio button to include a list of marital states on the Biographical Details page. This will be displayed when the Tester program for this test is executed.

 

 

Income Group

The Income Group radio button should be selected if income information is to be collected. If the Income Group radio button is selected then either the Standard or Custom check box must also be selected.

 

 

Standard

Press on the Standard check box to define Income Groups using a Base and Maximum Income and a number of standard increments.

 

 

Base Income

The Base Income Field is used to record the bottom Income Group which will catch all incomes below that point. A number should be entered. For example, if the number 5000 is entered, the bottom Income Group will read < 5000.

 

 

Maximum Income

The Maximum Income Field is used to record the top Income Group which will catch all incomes above that point. A number should be entered. For example, if the number 250000 is entered, the bottom Income Group will read > 250000.

 

 

Increments

The Increments Field is used to determine the number of Income Groups to define. This number includes the labels for the top and bottom Income Groups. The remaining number of increments is used to divide the range between the Base and Maximum numbers into equally spaced ranges which are used for the remaining labels.

 

 

Custom

Press on the Custom check box to manually define each Income Group.

 

 

Income Group

Enter a custom label, which represents an Income Group, in the Income Group Field and press the Add Button to add this label to the list of labels to be displayed.

 

The Add Buttonis used to append custom Income Group labels, entered in the Income Group Field, to the Custom Income Group labels.

 

The Delete Buttonis used to remove the currently selected label from the Custom Income Group labels.

 

 

 

Press the increment or decrement arrows at the right of the Increments Field to increase or decrease the number of increments for the Standard Income Group labels.

 

Press the View Buttonto display the Biographical Details item created.

 

 

 

Clicking on the Income List displays a list of Income Group labels.

 

 

Click on an Income Group to select this group into the Income Field.

 

The DOB (date of birth) Fielddisplays a date which may be increased or decreased via the increments or decrements arrows at the right of the field. The individual month, day and year components of the field may be edited separately. Click the mouse on the part of the date to change and used the increments or decrements arrows to increase or decrease these values.

 

Pressing the Continue Buttonexits from the View Biographical Details screen and returns to the Biographical Details definition screen. Pressing the Continue Button from this screen, when the Tester program is executing, proceeds to the first defined test item.
